Grand Tour of La Gomera

A DAY FULL OF ADVENTURE ON THE ISLAND WITH THE LARGEST LAUREL FOREST RESERVE IN THE WORLD. WE WILL HELP YOU TO UNDERSTAND THE BIODIVERSITY OF THE ENDEMIC FLORA AND FAUNA INSIDE THE GARAJONAY NATIONAL PARK, AND WE WILL VISIT AGULO, CONSIDERED TO BE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL TOWN IN SPAIN.

Discover La Gomera, Christopher Columbus’ last stop before going on to discover America. On this private tour we will walk along forest trails and enjoy the spectacular vantage points on offer inside the Garajonay National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Upon arrival, you will be amazed by the ancient colonial architecture of the homes and fortresses inside the capital, San Sebastian. On our visit to the Hermigua valley, you will learn about the unique conditions bestowed upon this fertile land by mother nature; beaming sunshine and rugged mountains that offer protection from the wind and collect water from clouds that gather at the summits, thus creating an ideal microclimate for agricultural production.

Our visit continues in Agulo, with its farming terraces surrounded by a huge, natural amphitheatre, offering special protection, with stunning views of the Teide volcano on Tenerife. Over lunch you will enjoy a demonstration of Silbo Gomero, the traditional whistling language of La Gomera, used by the first inhabitants on the island and inscribed in UNESCO’s list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

• On this tour you will be able to sample the very best cuisine from La Gomera, made with ingredients from the island, in mountain restaurants.

• This tour lasts around 10 hours, including the return ferry, and runs all year-round. Hotel pick-up time is 8:15am.
